Net working

We build the node structure of the xsf-coop progressively in tree form, thus there are 4 levels of connection:

1st level: Super nodes. They receive the Internet connection that arrives to us from Zona Franca and they redistribute it to the 2nd level nodes. They emit at 5ghz and 11A protocol.

2nd level: Main nodes. They receive the connection to the net from a super node, and they redistribute it with an access point within 1 km, giving this way connectivity in one neighborhood or certain zone. Often there are users from the net that live in the building where there is a main node and they connect to it directly by cable. In this second level the connection is received at 5ghz and reemitted at 2.4, they pass from protocol 11A to protocol B/G.

3rd level: Client nodes. They receive the connection from a main node and give connectivity to the users who want it in that building. There are also cases of adjacent building that use the same installation to be part of the net. In some cases the basic installation is accompanied by an access point that allows radio connection with a near building that has no direct visibility with the main node in its zone

4th level: Client nodes. Practically they are like the 3rd level ones, even though they receive the connection from an access point located in a near client node.

These 4 levels are to give connectivity to the people who might be interested on having connectivity in a fixed location. Additionally, in every connected house, optionally, it is possible to connect another access point that works to give connectivity to the free contents of the wireless cooperative network (see free net section)
